Sponsorship Program

The Why.

In the current BC childcare licensing framework, nature-based outdoor programs like Budding Minds do not qualify for childcare related funding because:

• We do not have a facility to license

• Childcare subsidies can only be accessed by licensed programs

• Regional funds that would financially support children with diverse abilities can only be accessed by licensed programs

This means that children in our community that may come from vulnerable families and/or experience life with special needs do not qualify for provincial and regional funding in our program.

The How.

We have joined advocacy groups in the province to work toward changing the childcare licensing structure to include programs like ours and many other forest schools across BC. In the meantime, we have set up our own sponsorship program so all families can access our programs.

100% of the funding we receive from businesses, private contributions, merchandise proceeds, and fundraising events will go toward sponsoring children to attend Budding Minds nature-based discovery programs and the gear they need to participate.

The Who.

Any family can apply for a sponsorship by clicking on the <Apply Now> button above. Applications will be accessed and sponsorships will be given on a sliding scale based on need.
